We live in a “Fallen” world. As beautiful as it is. As many opportunities as we have at our disposal. As many “good times” as we will experience in it, we must not lose sight of the Truth, that this world is passing away. Yes, in all of its advancements,  intelligence, sophistication and splendor, it is still decaying, along with everything in it, and  there is nothing that can stop it from its pending destruction. This is why the Bible instructs us not to become attached to it.
“Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world…

Many of us search for and desire it,  but for most of us, its presence is far away.   When it does find us, we feel at ease, we feel calm, we sense joy, and we relish every moment.  The only trouble is, when it finds us, it seems that it does not stay long. There is always some situation, some person,  some deadline,  some urgent matter…. some THING,  lurking on the outskirts of our lives waiting to steal it away from us.   And once it’s gone, we feel abandoned,  neglected,  FORGOTTEN, and we wonder, why it doesn’t stay? Why must we face so much of life without its presence?
