By now most of us have heard the popular saying, “Comparison is the thief of joy,” and many of us can testify that there is truth to those words. But, Did you know that comparison is a choice? Did you know that we can choose to admire, congratulate, cheer on, and even be inspired by others, WITHOUT comparing?….If we could control this one area of our lives, it seems, we would experience more joy, be more content with what we have been given, be courageous in pursuing our dreams, and have better relationships and interactions with others.
Did you know that your focus is the area of your life that you have the greatest influence ON and control OVER? A common acronym for the word Focus is
F (follow). O (one) . C (course). U (until) . S (successful) ,
yet how many of you can attest that this is easier said than done? I don’t know about you, but I find myself discouraged when I am following a particular course, and it seems like my desired results are far out of reach. When this happens I am tempted to give up and start searching for a new “course” to follow that will give me faster results. The problem with this mindset is, as soon as I take a detour and start “Recalibrating” my course, I am losing time, and likely lengthening my path to success!
“Progression is more meaningful than Perfection. Perfection is simply a beautiful mask to cover procrastination.”
An unrealistic need for perfection only makes procrastination acceptable. We must choose to place ourselves in position to PROGRESS!
