I can’t say that I was waiting for you, but I am thankful that you found me.   I can’t say that I “always knew” because when I met you, I was fully content with being with me. 

I can’t say it was “love at first sight” because though you were immediately handsome to my eyes, I was not looking for love.

It was your love and commitment toward God that first captured me.  It was your natural proclivity to lead,  protect, and support that intrigued me.  Your confident clarity about the direction of your life inspired me.  Your consistent and thoughtful “just because” gestures warmed me. The wisdom of  your words left me hungry, and just being in your presence was enough, we did not need an itinerary.

The depth of your conversation was the key that unlocked me, and it was the way you effortlessly and respectfully captured me mentally that made me truly see you. 

You inspired me before I loved you.  I knew you would make some woman a great husband 15 years before I knew that woman would be me.  You were a true friend first,  and true friends we will forever be. You were always the right person, you will always be the right person, I am just blessed that you are the right person for me! 

“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”

Romans 12:10

In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.  (I Peter 3:7)
