He takes no pleasure in the strength of a horse or in human might. No, the Lord’s delight is in those who fear him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love.  

-Psalm 147:10-11 

God is not asking, expecting, nor insisting that you be strong. He celebrates when you boldly choose to root your hope in Him.

We exist in a world where strength is highly celebrated, which can cause us to become stuck in a never ending cycle of striving to prove ourselves. The trouble is,  eventually we find out, no matter how hard we work to convince ourselves, and others that we are strong, human strength is never going to be enough because human beings are rarely satisfied!

Anxiety, burnout, and inadequacy are often the rewards for human might because that kind of “strength” is counterfeit.

Human might is impressive from the OUTSIDE looking in, but from the INSIDE looking out, it’s chaotic and overwhelming.

We must have the courage to prefer authentic strength above hustling, striving, and forcing.

Authentic strength is boldly trusting God.

Authentic strength is resting in the Unfailing Love of God , in lieu of forcing things to happen.  

Authentic strength is believing that God’s grace is better than, and can take us further than human strength. 

Authentic strength is releasing our burdens before the Lord and  believing He will take care of the things that we entrust into His hands.  

Pour out all your worries and stress upon Him and leave them there, for He always tenderly cares for your

1 Peter 5:7
